Executive Coaching · We find that leaders, executives and the most senior people in organisations relish the opportunity to have a coaching relationship which they know will be completely confidential. Leadership can be lonely and isolating, and often when you are 'boss' it is difficult to know who you can turn to without the risk of diminishing your reputation in some way. In an environment where the focus on fee income and business development is relentless, it can often be difficult for leaders to maintain the balance between these areas and investing in their people whilst keeping an eye on the bigger picture. So many of the leaders we work with, be they executives or partners in firms, are exceptionally talented, but sometimes have not been given the opportunity to hone the skills required to deal with such broad based responsibilities that they now face. Sadly, there is sometimes a perception that coaching is time consuming and can be slow at producing results - this has been exacerbated by some executive coaches advocating lengthy face to face meetings. Let's give you another perspective… The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines the standards for the profession. The oral exams for the highest level of qualification require the coach to work with a 'new' client on a real issue, on the telephone, to get to a resolution or agreement for action within 15 minutes. All our coaches are qualified through the ICF and their focus is completely on their client's agenda; we do not see the need for clients to unnecessarily undertake various assessments as part of the process, although these are available if required. Many of our clients are based overseas and/or have very busy schedules, and we are happy to provide coaching not just face to face, but also via the telephone - sessions can be as brief as 30 minutes - making it easy to fit into the diary.
